~Meet the Staff~

Bonnie Petitt is the owner and head coach of Bright Stars Gymnastics Academy. Her love of the sport and her excellent rapport with children has given her a winning edge to share with the members of the Bright Stars Gymnastics Academy: USA GYMNASTICS professional member, *USAG Safety certified, FUN and FIT Certified, MELPD Certified, KAT Certified, and CPR Certified.  * USAG Team Coach, USAIGC Team COACH, MINI Team Coach, Preschool and Recreational class instructor, Fitness Stars instructor. Attended business and coaching clinics organized by USA Gymnastics University 2006, 2007 and 2008.   Attended USA Gymnastics University coaching clinic held at the Karolyi's Camp in Houston, Texas which is also the National Team Training Facility.  This clinic was taught by the choreographers of the USA Junior Olympic Program. Bonnie was the Massachusetts' All-Around State Champion and coached 2000 USA Olympic gymnast Allyssa Beckerman as a 9 year-old competitive gymnast.  Her favorite gymnast?  NADIA!

Bonnieover her four young children: Sam, Julia, Jack, and Alexander, and her husband, Greg. She loves the movie Father of the Bride and is proud to say she was born in Salem, Massachusetts. She enjoys spending her summer days at the Ocean City Boardwalk and on the beach making sandcastles with her kids and nieces and nephews. She's counting down the days until the new gym/location is open and can't wait for you to stop by and have a look around.

Greg Petitt is owner of Bright Stars along with Bonnie. He recently launched and will be responsible for running Camp JumpStart Prep and Fitness Sports Camps. Attended 2008 USA Gymnastics University business seminars. His favorite gymnast:1996 USA Olympic team member Amanda Borden

Gregover his wife and four kids, and anything sports-related. He’s certified through USA Gymnastics. Greg is a well-rounded coach in various sports and added gymnastics to his list recently.  From baseball to rugby, Greg plays or has played most sports on a competitive level.  He loves to chow down his favorite childhood meal of Hotdog and Noodles which has a nice spicy kick! Ask him about it. He might even give you the secret recipe! His favorite movies are Rudy and Field of Dreams.  He can’t wait to see the construction completed on the new facility. He strongly believes: “If you build a gym, they will come.”

Korin Benmoha is a Recreational Class Instructor and a AAU Team Coach. She brings 14 years gymnastics experience with her to Bright Stars. She's been coaching for 1 year and holds USA Gymnastics Safety Certification and Fun & Fit Certification. She graduated from Atlantic City High School and Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.

Korin over anything chocolate!  YUM!  Her favorite movie is The Notebook. She loves playing with her dog, Sachie and enjoys hanging out with her friends at the beach. She works hard to stay fit so if you're looking for her and can't find her, she's probably working out at the gym!

Lauren Domenick is a recreational class instructor and is a certified USA Gymnastics instructor. She has 9 years of competitive gymnastics under her belt as well as four years of coaching experience. She comes all the way from the deep south of Atlanta, Georgia.

 Laurenover her puppy, Loli, who occasionally flips over her! Loli crossed the wide Atlantic Ocean with Lauren after her latest stint living abroad in a small town in southern Spain where she taught English to Spanish students for a year. Lauren loves learning to cook a variety of international cuisine, ballroom dancing (especially salsa!) and traveling.

Gina Fedeli is a Recreational Class Instructor and a AAU Team Coach. She's been coaching for 8 months at Bright Stars and holds USA Gymnastics Safety Certification and Fun & Fit Certification. She graduated from Atlantic City High School and Seton Hall University. Gina has Bachelors in the Science of Nursing (BSN). She is currently work at a ENT office during the day and coaches gymnastics at night. 
 
Gina over playing with her dog, Bella Mia and enjoys hanging out with her friends at the beach. She loves going shopping and for a run. 
 

Dotti Garlington is our recreational class instructor and USAIGC team coach. She has 8 years of gymnastics experience, cheered for 5 years, and coached for 3 years. She graduated from Hampton University in Virginia and is now also a counselor at Pleasantville High School.

Dotti over tumbling and her favorite event is floor. She loves getting the girls excited to tumble! Her favorite movie is Stick It because it makes her want to get up from her seat, go to a gym, and tumble. Before she started, Bonnie asked her what gymnastics gym she used to compete for... Come to find out Bonnie and Dotti's gym competed against each other often! 

Marilyn Korte McElroy joins us at Bright Stars in hopes to not only teach young children the love of dance, but to also mold and fine tune our current gymnasts by teaching proper ballet or dance technique as well as dance terms! Marilyn is a graduate of the North Carolina School Of Performing Arts where she received professional training from ballet greats including Melissa Hayden of NYC and Dame Margot Fonteyne. She has danced as a principle dancer with  Ruth Mitchel Dance Theater, North Carolina Dance Theater and The Atlanta Festival Ballet. Marilyn also helped train gymnasts at the Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta, working with the team on floor routines, grace and proper placement. She is a certified USA Gymnastics instructor. She is a native of Southern NJ where she began training w/ Gerry Hughes of Accent on Ballet, Phyllis Papa of Atlantic Contemporary ballet, David Howard and Steps in NYC.   Professionally, Marilyn has performed w/ North Carolina Dance Theatre, ACBT and The Hungarian State Ballet.  Recently, Marilyn danced with the Moscow Ballet in the Nut Cracker as a guest performer. 

Marilyn over her family: Jimmy, Sarah, Carson and Kylynn.  She loves the color red but her favorite movie is Fried Green Tomatoes. She loves Mexican food.  Ole!

CeCe Logan is one of our Recreational Class Instructors, USAG Coach and Training Team Coach. Attended 2008 USA Gymnastics University coaching clinics. She has 10 years gymnastics experience and has been coaching for 3 years. She's been with Bright Stars since it opened. She holds USA Gymnastics Safety Certification as well as Fun & Fit Certification. She graduated from Holy Spirit High School and Atlantic Community College.

CeCe over her husband, Drew. She's a newlywed!  She's passionate about animals and has a poodle named Mini and two pet rabbits. No wonder her favorite movie is Ace Ventura, Pet Detective.  She enjoys traveling with her husband and thinks Sushi is the most scrumptious food on the planet.  Her favorite gymnast? Olga Korbut!

Tricia Magrini is an AAU Team coach and recreational class instructor.  She has over 10 years gymnastics experience, including 5 years of competitive gymnastics.  She grew up in Chester County, PA and graduated from the University of Delaware.

Triciafor her children Cole and Brynn who both attend Bright Stars.  She loves spending time at the beach, running, reading and has a very eclectic music collection.

Jayne Marascio is one of our Recreational Class Instructors.   She has 30 years of gymnastics experience, 16 of which has been coaching competitive and recreational gymnastics to boys and girls from ages 18 months to 18 years.  (She was also a USAG judge!)  She is:  USA GYMNASTICS Instructor member, USAG Safety certified and KAT Certified.  Jayne is originally from North Jersey and relocated to Galloway just 6 years ago.

Kathy McKee is our Kindergarten Connection Program teacher. She's a certified elementary school teacher (and certified in CPR and First Aide, too) and has been teaching preschool in Ocean City for 23 years.  

Kathy over her husband John and her two daughters: Casey who is 20 years old and attends Penn State University; and Kelly who is 16 and a Junior at Ocean City High school. She volunteers her time helping her daughter's crew team and also helps at the Ocean City High School After-Prom party. During her free time, she enjoys attending Penn State football games, taking walks with her Golden Retriever Max, and spending Sunday afternoons on the beach with family and friends. She loves all types of movies but her all-time favorite is Sleepless in Seattle. And yes, she cries every time she watches it!
 

Holly Meuse is the secretary at Bright Stars. A former competitive swimmer, diver and lifeguard.  She has 12 years experience as a merchandiser in New York City fashion district with Guess and Calvin Klein to name a few. She has 15 years experience as a "gymnastics mom" and eight years with USA diving and NCAA diving.

Holly for her husband John, a true Eagles fan and her children Shawn 29 and Nicole 26, both Giants fans. She enjoys spending time with her husband Brendan, the beach and cruising the Caribbean.

Nikki Meuse is our USAG Team Coach. She’s been a gymnast for 13 years: competed level 10 and has coached Gymnastics for 8 years and Cheer for 3 years. She was a NJ state champion gymnast. Certifications: USAG Safety Certification, CPR, WSI & Teaching Certified.

Nikkiover diving and recently started coaching the dive team at Mainland High School. She earned college scholarship for diving. She's quite the athlete!  Her favorite color is blue... maybe it reminds her of diving into a pool? She's a huge movie buff and loves to watch movies (Old School is her favorite!) while knitting.  Nikki recently bought a house so she spends some of her free working around the house. She enjoys cooking and baking but going out for dinner for her favorite pasta and seafood dish can't be beat!

Lisa Mullarkey is our webmaster.  She's the one who put together this fabulous website and updates it for her sister-in-law Bonnie and brother, Greg!  Lisa is a children's author and now writes full-time at home.  Prior to writing full-time, she was a teacher for 19 years in Basking Ridge, NJ. Carissa Santora is one of our Recreational Class Instructors. She has USA Gymnastics Safety Certification as well as Fun & Fit Certification. Gymnastics Level 9 All-around State Champ.

Carissa over diving! She attends Mainland Regional High School and is a member of the Dive Team. She's currently training at Drexel and holds several diving records at MRHS. 
 

Pattiover her 3 daughters:  Lexi, Georgia, Lila and her husband Joe.  She loves to watch playoff hockey and HGTV.  She grew up in Philadelphia where she coached youth cheerleading for over 10 years.  She loves to watch her children play sports.
 

Chelsea Voss recently graduated from Mainland High School and is currently attending ACC. She's a USA Gymnastics certified instructor. She cheered for Northfield Cardinals for 8 years and the Victory All Stars for 4 years before cheering for the prestigious South Jersey Storm International Open co-ed. She has 5 years of gymnastics experience.

Chelseaover macaroni and cheese, the color pink and loves going to the beach and tumbling.

Lindsey Weintraub is our Recreational Class Instructor and has Fun & Fit and USAG Safety Certification. She has five years gymnastics experience and has been coaching at Bright Stars since we opened.  She attends Mainland Regional High School.

Lindsey for cheerleading, dance and shopping and loves anything pink & lime green.  She's a big fan of the movie The Little Rascals and is a pizza connoisseur. Her favorite thing to do?? Playing with her puppies Snickers and Rocky!  Ruff!
